i often wonder if no matter what you put on the left side of the equation;

add this, multiply that, subtract something else.

you were always going to equal what was on the right side.

if we were always going to equate to ending by you leaving

was it inevitable?

could it have been moving in together?

— you need space

could it have been the day before a wedding?

— cold feet.

could it have been a job loss?

— too much stress.

could it have been anything, and the outcome would have been the same?

with you running?

If those alternate realities are true, then i’m glad it ended now, this early on.

Although it hurts and feels like it won’t end some days, I’m barely scarred. Hardly scratched.
